Joseph Headshot.jpg

Joseph has been teaching private music lessons since 1991 and holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Columbus College's Schwob School of Music. With a long career as a professional musician, Joseph has directed praise and worship bands, orchestras, handbell ensembles and choirs of all ages. In 2017, Joseph led members of the Chancel Choir of Sanlando United Methodist Church, as they joined the Masterworks Festival Chorus In New York City in presenting John Rutter's Requiem on the stage of Carnegie Hall. Joseph returned to the stage of Carnegie Hall in 2019 with members of Oceanview United Methodist’s Celebration Choir. He has appeared as a conductor and soloist for many of the cornerstones of choral literature such as Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Requiem with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. As a composer, he has written many original choral pieces and arrangements, as well as songs for musical theatre and has had original music licensed for use in the nationwide Sunday school curriculum "Live Big" for the United Methodist Church. Many of Joseph's students have gone on to careers in both music and ministry.

Joseph has directed multiple musical theatre productions including Godspell and Schoolhouse Rock Live!

Joseph’s students are consistently high achievers having been cast in both leading and supporting roles in their church and community theatre productions. Joseph has also prepared multiple students on multiple instruments for Solo and Ensemble adjudications resulting in multiple superior ratings and has had multiple students on multiple instruments admitted to the Bak Middle School of the Arts.

I can highly recommend Joseph as a teacher! He’s the reason why I stuck with piano for so long, and why I enjoyed teaching it so much as an adult!
